Allu Arjun, Deepika’s ‘Raaka’ achieves Guinness feat before release

Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone-starrer much-anticipated film ‘Raaka’ has made history even before its release by securing a place in the Guinness World Records.
The film has been recognised in the category of “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time” after 37 artists were captured simultaneously using motion-capture technology during a shoot.
The official Guinness World Records certificate was handed over to ‘Raaka’ director Atlee and actor Allu Arjun on September 15. Representatives of the film’s production company, Sun Pictures, were also present.
The record was set during the film’s shooting in February this year. For a particular scene, motion capture was performed on 37 artists at the same time. According to the filmmakers, no such feat had previously been achieved in Indian cinema.
Made on a reported budget of around Rs 800 crore, ‘Raaka’ is being produced on a large scale with extensive use of technology. Atlee is directing the film, with Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone starring alongside Allu Arjun in the lead roles. Oscar-winning Hollywood star Will Smith will also appear in an important role.
Allu Arjun expressed his happiness after the film entered the Guinness World Records. He said it was a moment of great pride for the entire team and credited Atlee’s vision and direction, along with the hard work of the entire team, for the achievement. He also thanked Sun Pictures and everyone involved for believing in the ambitious project.
The achievement is also particularly significant for Atlee. Sharing his feelings, the director said he had heard about the Guinness World Records since childhood but had never imagined that one of his own projects would eventually earn a place there.
Atlee said being recognised for bringing 37 characters together through motion capture in a single shooting session was an incredible feeling. He expressed gratitude to the entire team, saying that when people work together with big dreams and complete belief, even the impossible can sometimes become possible.
If all goes as planned, ‘Raaka’ will be released in theatres next year. The film’s Guinness World Records achievement ahead of its release has further raised audience interest in the project.
