Schoolboy killed being hit by leguna in Dhaka

A fifth-grade student named Sagar was killed after being run over by a human hauler (Leguna) in Dhaka Uddyan area under Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital on Tuesday evening.
Police detained the Laguna driver, identified as Rifat alias "Danger," following the incident.
The accident occurred around 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the end of C-Block, Road 3 in Dhaka Uddyan. Sagar was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors pronounced him dead at around 8:00 PM.
Sagar resided with his family at a rented house in C-Block, Road 1, Dhaka Uddyan. He was the son of Md Firoz and studied in class five at Turag National School in Mohammadpur, while also driving an auto-rickshaw to support his family.
Landlord Robiul Islam stated that the Laguna hit Sagar while reversing on Road 3 in C-Block. Local residents caught the driver at the scene and handed him over to the police.
Robiul added that Sagar's father had abandoned the family long ago, and the family had been residing at his house for the past ten years.
DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Inspector Md Habibur Rahman confirmed that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, and Mohammadpur Police Station has been informed to take legal action.
