Fateha-e-Yazdaham today: Educational institutions closed

No classes or examinations will be conducted in this day, according to the revised annual holiday calendar issued by the Ministry of Education.

The holiday was originally scheduled for Thursday (September 24). However, following confirmation regarding the moon sighting, the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education issued a notification amending the date to September 23 for the 2026 academic calendar.

The holiday applies to all primary schools, government and non-government secondary schools, colleges, madrasahs, and technical education institutions nationwide.

Universities will observe the holiday based on their respective administrative decisions and notifications.

Fateha-e-Yazdaham marks the death anniversary of Sufi saint Hazrat Abdul Qadir Gilani (RA), who passed away on 11 Rabi al-Thani in 561 AH.
