11 more die with measles symptoms, 1,270 cases reported

Eleven more people died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total deaths this year to 1,076, including 101 confirmed measles deaths and 975 deaths involving measles symptoms.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its regular health bulletin on Wednesday.

According to the bulletin, 1,270 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals between 8am Tuesday and 8am Wednesday, taking the total hospital admissions since March 15 to 162,048. Of them, 155,612 have been discharged after treatment.

The number of suspected measles cases reported nationwide since March 15 stands at 183,449, including 20,851 confirmed cases.
