Agri secy visits BRRI

GAZIPUR, Sept 23: Agriculture Secretary Md Salim Khan visited the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) on Wednesday. 

BRRI Director General (DG) Dr Md Rafiqul Islam welcomed him upon his arrival on the BRRI campus in the afternoon.

The Agriculture Secretary then planted a tree sapling on the BRRI campus. Later, as the chief guest, he inaugurated a workshop titled ‘BRRI’s Progress, Achievements and Future Plans’ and a training programme titled ‘Modern Office and Financial Management and Procurement’, organised for the BRRI scientists of Grade 6 and above, at the conference room of the BRRI Training Building.

BRRI DG Dr Md Rafiqul Islam chaired the programme while Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council Dr Md Abdus Salam, DG of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Dr Md Manjurul Kadir and BRRI Director (Administration and Common Service) Dr Aminul Islam attended the event as special guests.

At the beginning of the programme, the BRRI DG delivered the welcome address and made a presentation on ‘BRRI’s Progress, Achievements and Future Plans’. All heads of BRRI divisions and sections, chief scientific officers at the Headquarters, project directors, and participating scientists in the training programme, were present on the occasion.
