HSTU student found hanging at hostel

Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) from a hostel near the university in Dinajpur on Wednesday evening.
The deceased, Sinthia Akter, was a 21-batch student of the Development Studies Department. She lived at Fazila Chhatri Nibash and was from Gazipur.
Fellow students said they found her hanging after she failed to respond to repeated calls. The hostel owner was informed and the door was later broken open.
Police said the body was sent for autopsy and further legal action would depend on the investigation and any complaint from the family or university authorities.
