Salman Muqtadir’s studio vandalized, looted

According to studio officials, an armed mob of 100 to 150 individuals breached the facility around 10:30 PM. The assailants allegedly carried sharp weapons and firearms, forcing employees to take shelter in the restrooms. The attackers stole essential production equipment, mobile phones, and wallets before fleeing. No injuries were reported among the staff.

Salman Muqtadir, who was outside Dhaka at the time of the incident, returned to the capital and broadcast live videos on Facebook showing the extent of the destruction. He alleged that local BNP affiliates carried out the attack in retaliation after he rejected their extortion demands.

"My dream project and creative workspace have been destroyed," Salman stated during his Facebook live broadcast. "This extortion was carried out by BNP men. Why are you destroying my dream?"

Addressing Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed in one of his videos, Salman remarked that security remains uncertain for anyone in Bangladesh who refrains from political flattery. Despite the severe damage and loss of client footage and equipment, he vowed to file a formal case and continue his creative work.

Law enforcement authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, formal filings, or the identification of the perpetrators.
