New guidelines for MPs using Bangladesh missions abroad

The Foreign Ministry has issued new guidelines on MPs’ visits to Bangladesh missions abroad and their use for meetings and events.

Under the new directive, any request by an MP to use a Bangladesh mission or chancery abroad must be approved through the Foreign Ministry.

The instruction was sent in a confidential message on Sunday by Md Nurul Islam, director general of the Administration Wing of the Foreign Ministry, to heads of Bangladesh missions abroad.

The message said MPs often express interest in visiting Bangladesh missions abroad. They also request the use of chancery premises for meetings and events with officials of host governments and representatives of the private sector.

Heads of all Bangladesh missions abroad have been asked to follow the Foreign Ministry’s decision.
