Daily Observer, Insaf Barakah join hands on healthcare

The Daily Observer and Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital on Monday signed a corporate healthcare agreement, followed by a free medical camp at the newspaper’s Motijheel office.

Under the agreement, the hospital will provide healthcare services to the newspaper’s director, journalists, officials, employees and their family members.

The agreement was signed at The Daily Observer office by Managing Editor Mahataf Uddin Khan on behalf of the newspaper and Additional Managing Director of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital Md Altaf Hossain on behalf of the hospital.

The day-long medical camp, held from 3pm to 7pm, provided free kidney tests, blood pressure checks and other health examinations to around 120 senior officials, journalists, employees and their family members. A physician also provided free consultations. The camp was inaugurated by The Daily Observer Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and Insaf Barakah Assistant General Manager Muha. Hafizur Rahman.

“This agreement between The Daily Observer and Insaf Barakah Hospital has created an opportunity for us to work together in the healthcare sector. We hope to receive the hospital’s cooperation in various healthcare-related initiatives organised by The Daily Observer in the future,” Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said.

Hafizur Rahman said the hospital was pleased to enter into the corporate agreement and had a special commitment to journalists.

He said accommodation facilities were available in Dhaka for patients and their attendants under an initiative of the Barakah Foundation at rates ranging from Tk400 to Tk800. The hospital also provides free dialysis facilities for underprivileged and distressed patients, he said.

The programme was attended by The Daily Observer Joint News Editor Reaz Haider, Chief Reporter Mohosinul Karim, Online In-charge Sajjad Hossain Chisty, Head of Accounts Farhana Akter, Head of HR Subrata Sarkar and other officials.

Representing Insaf Barakah Hospital were Dr Naim Bin Alomgir Kazi, Assistant Manager (Marketing and Media In-charge) H M Dulal, Senior Executive (Corporate) Md Hiro Mia, Md Milon, Senior Staff Nurse Rukaiya, Pathological Technologist Mukta Akter, Executive Barsha Adhikari, Rubina Yasmin and other officials and employees.
