Three found dead in three districts

Three persons were found dead in separate incidents in Narail District, Bhandaria Upazila of Pirojpur District and Khulna District in two days.

NARAIL: Police have recovered the body of a woman from the roadside near Markazul, just past the bridge in Narail town on Tuesday night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station (PS) confirmed the incident.

However, the woman’s identity and the cause of her death could not be immediately ascertained. Police visited the scene, recovered the body, and are working to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.

Police stated that further details regarding the matter would be available later.

BHANDARIA, PIROJPUR: Police recovered the hanging body of a schoolgirl from her living room in Madhya Chinguria Village of Bhandaria Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Mahira Akter, 17, was a class ten student of Bhandaria Thana Girls’ Secondary School.

Her stepmother Sumaya Akter denied the locals’ allegation that after Mahira’s mother’s death, she was subject to long-standing negligence and mental torture. Meanwhile, Sumaya Akter claimed that Mahira had an affair with a Saudi expat youth and she became mentally broken after the end of the affair.

Bhandaria PS OC Dewan Jaglul Hasan said the police recovered the body and was preparing to send it to morgue for an autopsy. 

KHULNA: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a 35-year-old man early Monday from a fish farm in Rupsa Upazila of the district.

Deceased Md Bappi alias Kolom Bappi was the son of late Akbar Sheikh from Alaipur Village under Ghatbhog Union in the upazila.

According to police, locals spotted the body lying inside a fish farm located behind Fresh Foods in the Mominbag area of Ilaipur Village under Naiyati Union and informed police.

Sub-Inspector Abdus Sabur Khan, the investigation officer of Rupsa PS, confirmed the incident. Investigators believe miscreants killed Bappi between 5 am and 5:30 am. A bullet wound was found on the right side of his neck alongside an injury mark on his head.

The motive behind the killing and the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown. Police are investigating the case, and the body has been sent to the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
