Fuel prices unchanged in Oct

Fuel prices will remain unchanged in October, with diesel selling at Tk135, octane at Tk165, petrol at Tk160 and kerosene at Tk155 per litre from Thursday (October 1).

The Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Division announced the decision on Wednesday night (September 30), keeping the prices set in its September 20 notification unchanged for the month.

A notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Enamul Haque said the existing retail prices would remain effective throughout October 2026.

The government had raised the prices of all types of fuel by Tk20 per litre on September 20 amid a rise in international oil prices and freight charges due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

At the time, the ministry said international fuel prices had increased significantly since March 2026, while the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation incurred losses of about Tk22,875.66 crore between March and August.
