4,599 playgrounds planned across country: Aminul

Youth and Sports State Minister Md Aminul Haque said on Friday that the government plans to prepare 4,599 playgrounds across the country, including mini-stadiums in every upazila, to expand sports activities and develop grassroots talent.

Speaking as chief guest at the closing and prize-giving ceremony of the Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Football Tournament-2026 at Valum Ataur Rahman Khan Degree College ground in Dhamrai, he said the initiative would strengthen sports infrastructure across the country. A modern playground would also be built in Dhamrai soon, he said.

The tournament was organised by Kalampur Jubo Samity.
