Class 11 students across the country face severe uncertainty as the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) failed to release the Bengali syllabus and English mark distribution even a week after classes began.

Classes for the XI academic session commenced on September 24. Although students received their textbooks for Bengali, English, and ICT, colleges cannot conduct full-fledged academic activities due to the absence of an official syllabus and evaluation structure.

Teachers expressed deep concern over the delay, pointing out that NCTB released the Bengali syllabus six months after classes started last year. They warned that such repeated negligence adversely affects HSC examinees and leads to poor academic performance.

College educators highlighted that the short timeline available for higher secondary education forces students to rely heavily on coaching centers when syllabuses are delayed. Representatives from parent associations called the situation unacceptable, demanding executive accountability for officials involved in the delay.

NCTB Curriculum Member Professor Dr A.K.M. Shaukat Ali stated to media that the syllabus and mark distribution will largely remain identical to last year's structure, with minor volume adjustments in ICT. He assured that the final guidelines will be published on the official website by Monday following an upcoming coordination meeting.
