Candidates recommended for government service through the 43rd, 44th and 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations but later excluded from appointment gazettes have demanded fresh verification and an opportunity to join their respective cadres.
At a press conference in front of Dhaka University’s Central Library on Friday, the candidates alleged that irregularities and unverified information used during police and intelligence verification prevented qualified candidates from joining government service.
The 43rd BCS candidates said the final results of the quota-free examination were published on December 26, 2023, after nearly five years of preliminary, written and viva examinations. They were subsequently recommended by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) and underwent medical and police verification.
