More than 40 local, international and multinational companies participated in Career Expo 2026 at Stamford University Bangladesh on Saturday, offering students access to more than 1,000 job and internship opportunities.
Organised by the university's Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC) in collaboration with JCI Dhaka Diplomats, JCI Dhaka Heritage and JCI Dhaka Impact, the daylong expo brought students face-to-face with employers and career professionals from various sectors.
Prof. Dr. Farahnaaz Feroz, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Stamford University Bangladesh, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber formally inaugurated the event.
Representatives of participating companies, university officials, faculty members and students attended the opening ceremony.
Recruitment booths were set up across the campus, where students submitted CVs and discussed job and internship opportunities directly with human resources professionals and corporate representatives. They also received information about recruitment processes, required skills, workplace expectations and potential career paths.
The expo also featured career development sessions covering banking, entrepreneurship, information technology and leadership.
Sessions included “Career in Banking,” “Entrepreneurship,” “Career in IT” and “Leadership Skills,” led by industry professionals throughout the day.
Organisers said the initiative was designed to strengthen direct links between university students and the corporate sector while giving young job seekers a clearer understanding of industry expectations and the skills required in an increasingly competitive employment market.
They said the expo would also help students build professional networks, explore career opportunities and gain practical exposure to employers.
For participating students, the event provided an opportunity to engage directly with potential employers while taking steps towards their professional careers.
