Bangladesh measles deaths top 1,100 as 8 more die

Eight more people have died with measles symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours, taking the combined number of deaths from confirmed measles and suspected measles-related cases to 1,122 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the total, 102 deaths have been confirmed as measles, while another 1,020 deaths involved patients with measles symptoms, the DGHS said in its regular health bulletin issued on Saturday.
All eight deaths reported over the latest 24-hour period occurred in Dhaka, according to the bulletin.
Meanwhile, 1,153 new patients with measles or measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
