CIA report warns Israel at risk of civil war

A classified CIA assessment has warned that deepening political, economic and social divisions could put Israel at risk of civil war or state collapse, according to a report by Drop Site News.
The assessment, titled “Fracture From Within”, was reportedly prepared in August by the CIA’s Red Cell, which conducts alternative analysis to challenge prevailing intelligence assumptions. The CIA has not publicly confirmed the assessment.
The reported assessment identified economic pressure, rising military spending, disputes over ultra-Orthodox exemptions from military service, violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political struggle as factors contributing to internal instability.
It also cited the strain of prolonged wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, including the return of soldiers from extended combat and growing social and political divisions ahead of Israel’s October 27 election.
