Special Response Battalion (SRB-10) has recovered 42 unexploded crude bombs from an abandoned mango orchard in Pangsah upazila of Rajbari.

The bombs were recovered during a drive in Bishnupur area of Ward 6 under Pangsha Municipality early Friday.

SRB-10 Assistant Director (Media) and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Tapan Sarkar disclosed the information in a press release.

According to the release, an operational team from the SRB-10 Faridpur camp (CPC-3) conducted the drive at around 5:40 AM on a tip-off. The team found the 42 bombs abandoned in the orchard, with no owner identified.

SRB said all the recovered bombs were unexploded. Intelligence surveillance is continuing to determine whether the explosives were stockpiled for any major act of sabotage.

The battalion said it regularly gathers intelligence and conducts operations to prevent the stockpiling, transportation and use of illegal weapons and ammunition. Such drives will continue to ensure public safety and bring those involved in criminal activities to justice.
