India will not bow to nuclear threats or be deterred from responding to terrorist attacks, Indian diplomat Anmol Sher Singh Bedi told a UN General Assembly committee, reaffirming New Delhi’s right to self-defence, according to NDTV.
Responding to Pakistan’s remarks at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly’s First Committee, Bedi said India did not seek conflict but would hold those responsible for terrorism accountable.
Referring to the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians, he described India’s military action in May last year as a targeted and proportionate act of self-defence.
He also raised concerns over nuclear proliferation and reiterated India’s position on Jammu and Kashmir.
