Leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), including party spokespersons Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and Ajinkya Shinde, were detained by Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday (October 13) morning.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared details of the incident in a post on social media platform X, stating that party leaders and activists gathered at Jantar Mantar carrying the Indian national flag before being taken into custody by Delhi Police. In his post, Dipke directly addressed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, writing, "You cannot stop resistance."
Delhi Police confirmed the detention of key CJP figures, including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.
This latest action follows an earlier incident on Saturday (October 10), when Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka were taken into preventive detention by police directly from inside a commercial airliner upon landing in Delhi.
Video footage released by CJP on Saturday captured police officers boarding the flight before passengers could disembark, showing party leaders chanting slogans and questioning police officials as they were taken into custody.
The CJP delegation had traveled to New Delhi to participate in a scheduled protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of voter lists.
In a nearly three-minute video posted to CJP's official X account during Saturday's incident, Dipke remarked that police boarded the plane immediately after landing. Party members chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Inquilab Zindabad" as officers approached their seats.
