The government is working to ensure a modern and safe learning environment for students, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan said on Saturday.
He made the remarks while laying the foundation stone of a four-storey building at Dhanbari Collegiate Model School in Tangail. The building is being constructed at a cost of Tk 1.25 crore under the Secondary and Higher Education Project.
He said the new building would ease classroom shortages and improve the learning environment.
The minister also called for a zero-tolerance approach to drugs, urging students to engage in sports and parents to monitor their children's activities and mobile phone use.
