Chittagong Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury warned that school and college students found wandering the streets after dusk will be arrested as part of strict measures to eradicate teenage gangs.

Speaking as the chief guest at a civic gathering on preventing violence against women and children and suppressing social crimes—held at the Shahid Subhash Hall of the Cox's Bazar Public Library on Saturday evening—the DIG emphasized that police will continue preventative actions until youth gang culture is completely eliminated.

Addressing parents and teachers, DIG Abdul Kuddus stated that a lack of parental supervision and family discipline contributes directly to the rise of youth gangs. He noted with concern that students who should be focusing on their studies are often seen idling on the streets in the evenings and engaging in disruptive behavior.

"We have taken a firm decision to eliminate teenage gangs from this country. Nothing called a teen gang will be allowed to exist," the DIG asserted, reiterating the police department's commitment to sustained enforcement.

Presided over by Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police ANM Sazedur Rahman, the meeting was also addressed by Cox's Bazar Municipal BNP President Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury, Sadar Upazila BNP President Freedom Fighter Abdul Mabud, Cox's Bazar Press Club President Mahbubor Rahman, and District Sramik Dal President Rafiqul Islam. Speakers acknowledged recent police initiatives against local crime and called for unified action involving political, social, and civic groups alongside law enforcers to maintain order in Cox's Bazar.
