BGB deployed in Gazipur

Five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in Gazipur to maintain law and order, with authorities noting that additional troops may be dispatched if necessary.
Superintendent of Police (SP) for Gazipur Industrial Police Mohammad Amjad Hossain confirmed the deployment on Sunday morning, November 1.
He stated that BGB members have reached key locations including Kaliakair and Safipur. The paramilitary force was deployed to assist the Industrial Police and ensure general public order across the industrial belt.
However, the official did not explicitly confirm whether the deployment was specifically intended to prevent highway blockades staged by garment workers demanding wage increases.
