Published : Tuesday, 6 January, 2026 at 12:00 AM
The government has launched a dedicated hotline service to prevent and counter rumours, misinformation, and disinformation at the national, institutional, and individual levels.

From now on, citizens can report any related complaints by calling 01308-332592 or by emailing [email protected].

The information was confirmed on Monday through a post on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser.

Earlier, on December 28, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus issued special directives to the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) during a meeting of the National Cyber Security Council to ensure comprehensive cyber security ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections and referendum.

At the meeting, Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that 35 institutions have already been designated as Critical Information Infrastructure (CII). He added that there are plans to include more key institutions in the list in the interest of security.
