2 held with hemp in Narsingdi

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with a huge amount of hemp from Palash upazila of Narsingdi district on Saturday night.

The arrested were identified as Md Kawsar, 27, the driver of the vehicle, and his assistant Md Maharam Ali, 26.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB officials conducted a drive around 11:40 PM in Charnagardi Bazar area on the Panchdona-Charsindur road, intercepted a pickup truck and recovered contraband items from it.

RAB officials recovered 80 kg of hemp and two button mobile phones from their possession.

Narsingdi RAB-11 Camp Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Ariful Islam said that the arrested were handed over to Palash Police Station on Sunday morning and would be produced before the court for further legal procedures.
