Policeman killed in Magura road mishap

A policeman was killed in a road mishap in Magura Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Badsha, 26, son of Omar Ali, a resident of Ailiya village under Tala Police Station area in Satkhira district. He was a police constable by profession and was serving at Babukhali Police Camp under Magura Sadar upazila..

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 12:45 PM on the south side of Par Nanduali Bridge in the town when he was returning to his workplace on a motorcycle after collecting ration and medicines from Magura police lines.

At that time, his motorcycle was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction, causing him seriously injured.

Later, locals immediately rescued him and took him to Magura General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Magura Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Ashikur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that legal action is underway.
