Govt working to make pry teaching prestigious: Tuku 

TANGAIL, Mar 8:  State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku MP has said the government is giving utmost priority to primary education and taking necessary steps to make the profession of primary teaching more respected and attractive. 

He made the remarks on Saturday at the award-giving ceremony for top teachers and students, as well as the annual sports competition winners, held at the Tangail Deputy Commissioner (DC)'s conference room under the temple-based child and mass education programme.

The State Minister said, "Before the elections, we announced that education would be a top priority. Primary education is the foundation of a nation. We aim to establish primary teaching as a prestigious and desirable profession so that talented individuals are encouraged to pursue it."

He also highlighted the importance of the temple-based education program at the grassroots level, saying, "Through this program, students are developing strong moral, humanitarian, and social values while improving their academic skills."

Tuku emphasised unity across communities, stating, "In Bangladesh, there is no distinction between majority or minority; we are all Bangladeshis. Everyone must work together for the country's development and progress. The government will provide full support to the Sanatan community in all matters."

The ceremony was presided over by DC Sharifa Haque, with Additional DC (General) Sanjay Kumar Mahanta, Additional Police Superintendent (Administration and Finance) Md. Robiul Islam, and trustee of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Shyamal Hor presenting awards to the winners.
