Five Bangladeshi films slated for release during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr have received certification from Bangladesh Film Certification Board, clearing the way for their screening in theatres.
The films are “Prince”, “Bonolota Express”, “Pressure Cooker”, “Dom” and “Rakshosh.”
The information was confirmed on Monday afternoon by BFCB Deputy Director Md Moinuddin.
According to relevant sources, the films were screened before the board and granted certification after completing the necessary formalities. As a result, there is now no obstacle to their release in cinemas.
The five films, each featuring different stories and genres, have already generated discussion among audiences ahead of the Eid festival.
Industry insiders say the movies reflect the growing trend in Bangladeshi cinema toward fresh storytelling and diverse filmmaking styles.
The film “Prince,” directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, features Shakib Khan in the lead role, alongside Farin, Jyotirmoyee and others.
“Bonolota Express,” directed by Tanim Noor, stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Sabila Noor and Shariful Raj.
Director Raihan Rafi’s “Pressure Cooker” features performances by Shabnam Bubly, Nazifa Tushi, Snigdha and Maria Shanta.
Meanwhile, “Dom,” directed by Redoan Rony, stars Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury and Puja Cherry.
The film “Rakshosh,” directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, features Siam Ahmed and Susmita Chattopadhyay in key roles.
