Dear Sir,
Are we moving toward a decision that could ultimately damage the education system of Bangladesh by promoting device addiction in the name of online classes? Instead of focusing only on schools, colleges, and madrashas in divisional or district cities, we must also consider the institutions in rural and semi-urban areas.
Nearly 70% of students in Bangladesh live in villages and marginalized areas, and not all of them have access to the internet or electronic devices. If we proceed with the decision to implement online classes, these disadvantaged students will fall even further behind. For the overall development of the education system, we should refrain from chasing such unrealistic ideas. Rather than making decisions based on abstract thinking, we should consider ground realities and continue the existing system of offline classes to build a better Bangladesh.
In the attempt to save electricity and fuel, the underprivileged population may become even more neglected. It is hoped that the cabinet will not approve such a decision.
