Canal excavation programme inaugurated in Laxmipur’s Raipur

A canal excavation programme was inaugurated in Uttar Charbanshi union of Raipur upazila in Laxmipur district on Saturday.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan Kawsar and presided over by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nigar Sultana.

The re-excavation work is being implemented under an employment generation programme for the ultra-poor, with an estimated cost of Tk 3 crore.

Among others, Raipur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Shahin Mia and community leaders were present.
