3 held with Yaba pills in B’baria

Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with Yaba pills in separate drives in Brahmanbaria’s Ashuganj upazila on Wednesday.

The arrested were identified as Md Monir Mia, Md Faisal and Md Nurul Huda (Pabel).

Acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen conducted a drive around 4:30 PM at Ashuganj toll plaza area and arrested one individual with 1,000 pieces of Yaba pills.

In a separate drive at around 5:30 PM at the same location, police stopped a motorcycle and searched two riders, recovering 3,920 pieces of Yaba pills, leading to their arrest.

Police said Faisal has multiple previous cases, including two under the Narcotics Control Act and two for preparation of robbery.

The seized drugs and the motorcycle have been taken into police custody. Two separate cases were filed with Ashuganj Police Station in this connection, police added.
