The embassy ordered all US government personnel and their family members across Israel to shelter in place.
The security alert, published on June 7, 2026, comes amid a rapidly deteriorating security environment and multiple active Home Front Command emergency warnings across the country.
The critical security alerts include
Staff Directive: All personnel must shelter in place until further notice.
Operational Status: Consular offices in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are closed Monday.

The emergency directive requires all diplomatic staff to remain indoors and prepare for immediate relocation to fortified blast zones. The security mandate follows a series of regional escalations, including localized “Red Alert” sirens indicating rocket fire, missile attacks, and hostile drone incursions,
said a press release of the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
