Moniruzzaman Dhaka’s new Divisional Commissioner

Sylhet, Cumilla get new DCs

The government has appointed Md. Moniruzzaman Mia, an Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, as the new Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division.

In a separate development, the government has also appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) for Sylhet and Cumilla districts.

The appointments were announced through separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday.

According to the notification, the post of Dhaka Divisional Commissioner had remained vacant following a series of recent administrative reshuffles. On June 9, Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, then Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka, was promoted and appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, leaving the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner position vacant.
