Bodies of 5 BD expats killed in Qatar crash arrive in Sylhet today

The bodies of five Bangladeshi expatriates who died in a road accident in the Al-Shahaniya area of Qatar will arrive in Sylhet on Tuesday (June 30), funded by the Bangladesh Wage Earners' Welfare Board.

This information was conveyed in a notification issued on Monday (June 29), signed by Mohammad Mashhudul Kabir, Counsellor (Labour) at the Labour Welfare Wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar.

Five Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in a tragic road accident that occurred on the morning of Sunday, June 21, in the Al-Shahaniya area of Qatar.

The deceased are Abdul Kadir of Gachbari village, Mustak Ahmed Afnan and Zubayer Ahmed of Majhtaluk village, Jashim Uddin of Agataluk village, and Jibal Ahmed of Amarpur village�"all from Kanaighat Upazila in Sylhet.

The Labour Welfare Wing stated that the bodies of the deceased will be sent to Bangladesh from Hamad International Airport on Monday (June 29) at 10:15 PM (Qatar local time) via Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-226. The flight is scheduled to arrive at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at 6:50 AM on Tuesday (June 30).

The embassy stated that necessary arrangements have been made to repatriate the bodies of the deceased, funded by the Bangladesh Wage Earners' Welfare Board.

Additionally, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has stated that the relevant department is working on the proper handover of the bodies to the families and the provision of other benefits once they arrive in Bangladesh.
