Husband, wife die from electrocution in Kurigram

An elderly couple died from electrocution in Ulipur area of Kurigram district on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, afternoon.

The incident took place at around 2:30pm in the Baldipara area of Ulipur Municipality.






Abu Sayeed died at the scene. His wife later also died. Police recovered their bodies after being informed of the incident.

Ulipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saeed Ibne Siddiq confirmed the incident, saying police went to the scene after receiving reports of the couple’s deaths from electrocution. Legal procedures will be taken after the completion of the preliminary investigation.
