Thundershower and rain are likely to disrupt daily life in Dhaka and its surrounding areas. Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a forecast.
Sky over the capital may remain cloudy to overcast during this period, the forecast added.
The BMD said on Friday, winds may blow from the south or south-east. Wind speeds in Dhaka could range 10-15 km per hour. Night temperatures may drop slightly.
At 6:00pm, temperature of Dhaka was recorded 27.6 degree Celsius. Relative humidity was around 95 per cent. Today’s highest recorded temperature was 29.2 degree Celsius and the minimum was 25.8 degree Celsius. Dhaka recorded 14 mm rainfall in the last six hours.
Squall-like winds are expected to blow over Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Faridpur. Similar conditions are expected in Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet. Gusts or squalls may reach speeds of 45-60 km per hour. Rain or thundershowers are likely in these areas.
River ports in these regions have been advised to hoist riverine cautionary signal number 1.
