One died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours and 350 more were admitted to hospitals. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed this in a press release on Sunday.
One person was reported dead because of dengue fever in Dhaka South City Corporation in the last 24 hours. With this, 25 death cases due to dengue fever have been recorded throughout the year. Among them, 12 were male and 13 were female.
According to DGHS data, the number of dengue deaths this month rose to seven with the latest casualty in the last 24 hours. The highest number of deaths was recorded in June so far, with 13 fatalities. Besides, two deaths were recorded in January, two in February, and one in May.
According to the release, among the newly admitted patients in the last 24 hours (from 8:00 AM Saturday to 8:00 AM Sunday), 95 are in Barishal division, 31 in Chittagong division, 31 in Dhaka division, 53 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 44 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 70 in Khulna division, 17 in Mymensingh division, four in Rajshahi division, one in Rangpur division, and four in Sylhet division.
A total of 8,323 people have been hospitalized with dengue so far this year. Among them, 7,570 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
