Bongo launches 'Voice of Bangladesh' to pick first Eurovision Asia representative

Bangladesh is set to take part in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, with entertainment platform Bongo launching a nationwide talent hunt to select the country's first representative.

Titled "Voice of Bangladesh �" Song for Eurovision Song Contest Asia," the competition will conclude with a national final on September 30, when the winner will earn the right to represent Bangladesh at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia Grand Final in Bangkok.

The competition is open to solo artistes, duos and bands across all musical genres. It will stream exclusively on Bongo, while NTV will serve as the official television partner.

Singer and actor Tahsan Khan will host the show. The judging panel comprises renowned musicians Fahmida Nabi, Bappa Mazumder, Ankhi Alamgir, Hamin Ahmed and Shouquat Ali Imon. The winner will be selected through a combination of judges' scores and audience votes.

The initiative was unveiled at a press conference in the capital on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, Mohammad Ali Haider, Head of Content at Bongo, said the expansion of Eurovision into Asia offers Bangladesh an opportunity to showcase its musical talent and cultural heritage on an international platform. He said Bongo aims to discover the country's first Eurovision representative through the competition and encouraged aspiring performers from across the country to participate.

Applications are now open for solo artistes, duos and bands. Interested participants can submit a high-quality audio or video performance along with a short biography through Bongo's application portal.
