Two youths electrocuted in Naogaon

NAOGAON, July 30: Two youths died after being electrocuted while fishing in the Porsha Beel of Katkail Village in Porsha Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were Mahabur Hossain, son of Shafiuddin, and Abdul Aziz, son of late Abdul Gafur, of Katkail (Bilpara) Village in the upazila Tofail Ahmed, the elder brother of the deceased Abdul Aziz, said that they had gone to fish after drying the water with an electric motor in the morning. After that, they caught fish and brought them home around 10 am. They went to fish in the beel again at 1 pm. 

At that time, the electric wire leaked and electricity was connected to the water. Mahabur Hossain was electrocuted. Abdul Aziz was also electrocuted while trying to save him.

Officer-in-Charge of Porsha Police Station Ziaur Rahman confirmed the deaths.
