US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Steve Koehler will arrive in Dhaka today on a three-day official visit to strengthen longstanding defence partnership between Bangladesh and the United States (US).
According to a statement issued by US Embassy in Dhaka on Monday, Admiral Koehler will be in Bangladesh from August 4 to 6.
The US Pacific Fleet chief is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Bangladeshi officials to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and explore opportunities to deepen mutual collaboration in maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and professional military education.
Dhaka’s US embassy said the visit reflects continued US-Bangladesh engagement aimed at promoting regional security and expanding cooperation in areas of shared strategic interest.
Admiral Koehler commands the US Pacific Fleet, one of the world’s largest naval forces, which is responsible for safeguarding US interests and supporting security and stability across the Indo-Pacific region.
