Five people were found dead in Bagerhat, Naogaon and Munshiganj districts in two days.
BAGERHAT: Police recovered the bodies of three members of a family from their house in Chander Kola Village of Raripara Union in Kachua Upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.
The deceased were Monira Begum, 60, wife of late Abdar Ali Hawlader of the village, their son Ahad Hawlader, 25, and Monira Begum’s mother, Rashida Begum, 90.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kachua Police Station (PS) Harun Or Rashid confirmed the incident.
NAOGAON: The police recovered the floating body of a youth from the Atrai River in Ghulharia Kheyaghat in Manda Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased Atiqur Rahman, 30, was the son of Moyez Uddin of Bonkura Village of Kasab Union in the upazila.
Locals said that Atiqur Rahman went missing on Monday evening. While walking along the river in the morning, locals saw a body floating in the river and informed the police. On information, the police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
MUNSHIGANJ: A fire service diving team has recovered the body of a young woman from a depth of about 40 feet in the Dhaleshwari River on Monday evening, who went missing while bathing in the river near Tilardi Char Guchchha Village in Mirkadim Municipality of Munshiganj Sadar Upazila.
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Muhammad Shafiqul Islam said that Sohagi, 19, daughter of Shahidul Bepari of the area, went missing while bathing at 2 pm on Monday. On information, a rescue unit from the Kamala Ghat River Fire Station started a rescue operation. Later, a diving team from the Munshiganj Fire Station joined the operation, recovered the body and handed it over to the River Police for necessary legal proceedings. Later, the body was handed over to the family members in the presence of the River Police.
