Bhomra land port suspends trade for July Uprising Day

 Import and export activities between Bangladesh and India through the Bhomra land port in Satkhira remained suspended on Wednesday in observance of July Uprising Day.

Commercial operations, including the loading and unloading of goods, were halted for the day. However, passenger movement through the Bhomra-Ghojadanga International Immigration Checkpost continued as usual for travellers with valid passports and visas.

Abu Musa, general secretary of the Bhomra C&F Agents Association, said the suspension was jointly decided by the Bhomra C&F Agents Association and India’s Ghojadanga C&F Agent Cargo Welfare Association with the consent of the authorities of both countries.

Trade through the land port is scheduled to resume on Thursday.
