A microbus fell into a ditch after being hit by a passenger bus while its driver was reportedly trying to film another microbus that had fallen into the ditch on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Daudkandi, Cumilla, on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred in the Tamta area of Daudkandi upazila.
According to eyewitnesses and police, a Chattogram-bound microbus lost control due to high speed and fell into a ditch. The driver of another microbus coming from behind stopped to film the vehicle.
At that time, a passenger bus hit the second microbus from the side, pushing it towards the edge of the ditch.
Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the drivers. No passengers were inside the microbus, and no casualties were reported.
Local resident Rifat Ahmed said they rushed to the scene after seeing the vehicle fall into the ditch and rescued the drivers. None of them was seriously injured, he said.
Zulkar Nadim, a sergeant at Eliotganj Highway Police Station, said the accident occurred due to the drivers' negligence.
“No one was seriously injured. The two vehicles were recovered and taken into police custody,” he said.
