Jamaat-NCP decline has begun: Rashed Khan

Prime Minister’s Political Assistant Md Rashed Khan has said the decline of Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizens Party (NCP) has begun.
He made the remarks at a discussion and remembrance meeting marking July Prisoners’ Liberation Day at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium in Segunbagicha on Thursday (August 6).
Rashed Khan alleged that leaders and activists of Jamaat and NCP had attempted to disrupt a state event and create a negative impression of the government before foreign diplomats.
He claimed that diplomats from several countries left the venue in panic following the incident and alleged that the President was insulted in front of foreign diplomats.
Rashed also accused Jamaat and NCP leaders of attempting to paralyse state activities by surrounding the Secretariat.
Criticising the NCP leadership, he said denying the contributions of others would not help the party gain public support.
Referring to possible electoral competition between Jamaat and NCP in Dhaka South, Rashed said differences could emerge between the two parties over nominations.
“There will be no second mass uprising in Bangladesh under the leadership of Jamaat and NCP,” he added.
