PrSTU holds fresher reception, orientation for third batch

PIROJPUR, Aug 7: Pirojpur Science and Technology University (PrSTU) held a fresher reception and orientation programme for its third batch of students on Thursday at the university's administrative building.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sabirul Islam Hawlader attended the programme as the chief guest, while Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain, chairman of the Department of Mathematics, presided over it.

Welcoming the newly admitted students, the vice-chancellor said the university would take disciplinary action within an hour against anyone involved in ragging, violence or other antisocial activities.

"We want to make this one of the best universities in the country and attract students from home and abroad," he said.

Among others, Dr Md Musa Khan, chairman of the Department of Statistics; Dr Shohag Barman, chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Sharmin Islam Nipa, chairman of the Department of Psychology, addressed the programme.

Lecturer Sumaya Sultana of the Department of Statistics conducted the programme.
