Traffic gridlock on Dhaka-Ctg highway

Traffic congestion has persisted for the second consecutive day on Saturday on the Cumilla section of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, causing immense suffering to passengers.

Thousands of passengers are stranded in the Amtali area on Saturday (August 8). The traveling from Paduar Bazar to the Cantonment area, which normally takes 10-15 minutes, is now taking two to three hours.

Highway Police officials said ongoing road repair work and continuous rainfall have caused potholes at several points, disrupting traffic movement.

Police teams are working to control the congestion and restore normal traffic flow.
