Six held with narcotics in four districts

Six people were arrested with various narcotics in Daulatpur Upazila of Kushtia District, Kawkhali Upazila of Pirojpur District and Cox’s Bazar and Narayanganj districts on Friday.

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: Police have arrested a drug dealer along with 1,620 pieces of Tapentadol tablets in a special operation in Hisnapara area of Hossainabad Village in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Friday night.

The arrested Raju Ahmed, 32, is the son of Alamgir Hossain of Jhautala Village in Kumarkhali Upazila of the district.
Based on a tip-off, the police members conducted the operation under the overall direction of Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station (PS) Md Khaledur Rahman and arrested the drug dealer along with the tablets.

KAWKHALI, PIROJPUR: Police have arrested two people along with 25 grams of hemp in a raid in the Bashuri area of Kawkhali Upazila of the district on Friday night.

The arrestees are Mohammad Tarek Hawlader, 24, son of Rakib Hawlader, and Khairul Talukder, 31, son of Delwar Talukder of Bashuri Village in the upazila.

Kawkhali PS OC Md Anwar Hossain said that legal action has been taken against them in this incident.

COX’S BAZAR: A special patrol team of Hoaikyong BOP under the Ukhiya Battalion (64 BGB) has arrested two people along with 1.20 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets while smuggling those through the Teknaf border in the district early Friday.

Lt Colonel Md Zahirul Islam, commander of the Ukhiya Battalion (64 BGB), confirmed the matter on Friday morning.

The detainees are Md Rashed, 20, of Monirghona Village of Hoaikyong Union in Teknaf Upazila and Md Abdullah, 22, a resident of Rohingya Camp No. 11 in Ukhiya Upazila.

NARAYANGANJ: Members of RAB-11 have arrested a smuggler along with 377 bottles of Fairdyl (sedative syrup) from a truck loaded with mangoes in Kenduapara on the Dhaka Bypass Highway under Rupganj Upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The arrested is Md Momin, 30, is the son of Md Nurul Haque of Kathal Chandpur area under Gomastapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj District.

RAB-11 said that a check post was set up in front of Ruposhi Bangla Restaurant in Kenduapara and the smuggler was arrested along with the syrup. The arrested and the seized evidence have been handed over to Rupganj Police Station for further legal action.
