Five more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours while 1,155 children were infected with measles and measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information in a health bulletin issued on Monday (August 10).
According to the bulletin, 992 patients with suspected measles symptoms were identified in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of suspected measles cases reached 1,37,312 between March 15 and August 10.
A total of 163 confirmed measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 17,278 during the same period.
A total of 1,19,322 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals between March 15 and August 10. Among them, 1,16,139 patients recovered and were discharged.
Five children died of measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. The total death toll from measles symptoms has now reached 780 since March 15.
Meanwhile, no deaths were reported from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. The total death toll from confirmed measles stands at 98 from March 15 to August 10.
