Opposition Leader and Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Monday said that no fascist forces will be tolerated on the soil of Bengal.
"Greed for power, land grabbing, and murders have recently increased in the country. We will not tolerate any fascists on Bengal soil. So get ready, as you took to the streets in 2024, you may have to take to the streets again," he said.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a public rally demanding justice for the killers of two Jamaat-Shibir activists in Saghata and protesting the deterioration of law and order.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Recently, two of our activists' parents lost their sons in a terrorist attack in Saghata. Today, I stand witness to their grief. I do not want any more parents to lose their children. We want to see a proper and prosperous Bangladesh. We want safety for everyone."
The rally was held at the local Bonarpara Kazi Azhar Ali High School grounds, presided over by Gaibandha-5 MP Freedom Fighter Abdul Wares.
Among others, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Executive Council Member Principal Shahabuddin, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Secretary General Sibgatullah Sibga, and Gaibandha-2 MP Abdul Karim addressed the meeting.
