While students across the country celebrated their SSC exam results, a pall of gloom descended on a family in Char Fashshon upazila of Bhola.
Rasel passed the SSC examination with a GPA-3.30. However, he could not learn of his success. He died of electrocution just four days before the publication of the results.
The deceased was identified as Md Rasel, son of Md Abul Kalam of Ward No. 2 in Nurabad union. He was a student of Dularhat Secondary School.
Family sources said Rasel suffered severe electric shocks while connecting a power switchboard at his residence on August 6.
Family members rescued him in critical condition and rushed him to Char Fashshon Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Rasel was the only son of his parents among five siblings. His tragic death left his family, teachers, and classmates in deep shock.
Teachers at Dularhat Secondary School remembered Rasel as a polite, quiet, and attentive student. Classmates and teachers burst into tears upon learning about his result on Tuesday.
Local residents and the school authority expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
